Gary is Henry Charles Devivie's father. He is a detective investigating a string of murders when he mets his future wife Cissy.
[Spoiler] In chapter 82, it's revealed that Gary is in fact the murderer. He's eventually stopped and killed by Shishou, who strangles him to death. [/Spoiler]
