Hitomi's legal guardian who orders her to live with and protect Yuya.

[Spoiler] Seven years prior, Shidoh first encountered Hitomi living like a wild animal in Hong Kong. By feeding and spending time with her he gained her trust and named her Hitomi, despite sustaining numerous injuries to himself. Shidoh’s co-worker, Shibayama, ended up shooting her with a tranquillizer, causing her to collapse in an area controlled by the Liuman Mafia. They are eventually saved from the Mafia by match overseer Shinozaki and Hitomi begins to develop feelings for Shidoh for protecting her. [/Spoiler]

[Spoiler] Over time, Shidou frequently came to use Hitomi's crush on him to make her obey his orders without question or hesitation. He uses the Death Matches as the testing grounds for his own hybrid research. After obtaining power from the four zaibatsu, he orders Nomoto's assassination and orders Hitomi to execute him, as Nomoto knew too much as well as wanting Hitomi to remove all attachments; not realizing, he would soon make an enemy out of the young man.
