Sinopsis
This is a TV special based on the novel, Little Women, by Louisa May Alcott. It covers a year in the lives of four sisters, Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy as their father is away fighting in the American Civil War.

The success of this special led to the making of a TV series, Wakakusa no Yon Shimai, the following year, though this is not a prequel since both the special and the series generally cover the same events.
