Biografía
Anya is hot-tempered and quick to anger, speaking like a punk and frequently making sharp outbursts. Uncooperative and irritable from the start, he repeatedly butts heads with Zakuro but will readily take out his temper on anyone. Usually Anya is more bark than bite, however, and surprisingly warms up to Akatsuki, as he is seen hanging out with him during off-time between games and showing concern for Akatsuki's well-being. That said, Anya is still hot-headed, and tends to call Akatsuki "Bakatsuki" when frustrated with him despite learning to accept his company.
Anya has a hereditary sleep disorder that causes severe insomnia. Being unable to sleep at night regularly, his only choices are to stay awake until his body gives out and he collapses, or take sleeping pills. Because he is constantly sleep deprived, he is always shown with dark marks under his eyes, and this explains why he is so irritable.

Anya has two older brothers: Shinya and Kenya. His oldest brother, Kenya, died in a motorcycle accident caused by the family sleep disorder he inherited, like Anya. The motorcycle helmet Anya wears around his neck all the time belonged to Kenya; Anya is incredibly protective of this helmet, which highlights the extent of his grief for losing his brother.
