Biografía

Moriyama was previously a skilled Dragon Pilot, acting as Masotan's second pilot, but retired from an early stage from the JASDF. She is first seen in episode 3 with her son attending the Gifu Airbase's 15th annual airshow, and upon overhearing Masotan's cries, she followed them into Hangar 8. Due to the commotion of the airshow, Masotan refused to fly, but Moriyama's presence was able to calm him down enough to swallow Amakasu and proceed with the performance. Following the airshow, she granted Amakasu her TAC name as her technical superior.

[Spoiler] Moriyama justified her retirement from the JASDF due to becoming pregnant, but in actuality Masotan refused to let her ride in him after falling in love and therefore could not advance her career. She is a long-time friend of Lt. Col. Kakiyasu, originally chosen by her to undergo training to become a Dragon Pilot. They have since maintained a friendly rivalry after Moriyama married the man Kakiyasu was interested in following her retirement.

Moriyama's impact on Gifu Airbase and Masotan is evident by Kakiyasu's respect, despite the loss of her status as a Dragon Pilot. Masotan was quite fond of Moriyama, usually becoming extremely excited even at the mention of her TAC name. [/Spoiler]
