[Spoiler] It is later revealed that he and the rest of the Elders have been living for 200 years thanks to the powers of Imu, the secret leader of the World Government who has a history with Joy Boy. [/Spoiler]

[Spoiler] He ultimately dies at the end of Egghead Arc after Imu strips him of his immortality as punishment for allowing "Joy Boy" to escape. After his death, Figarland Garling took over his position as one of the Five Elders. [/Spoiler]
