Goto, Ryuji

Goto Ryuji is the strongest hunter in Japan and the Guild Master of the Draw Sword Guild. On the surface, Goto presented himself as a calm, collected, and polite individual who rarely ever showed signs of alarm or anger. In reality, however, he is consumed by overconfidence and had a cruel disregard for others, as demonstrated when he left the Korean S-Rank hunters to die for his own personal gain and showed no sympathy for his guild members when he discovered their headless corpses. His ego is also very fragile, to the point that he'd become a nervous wreck whenever he ran up against a much stronger opponent.

[Spoiler] When ant attacks began to occur on the south Japanese coastline, Goto flew to Korea to meet with Go Gun-hee and offered to help the Korean S-Rank hunters rid the island of the ants and reclaim the territory once and for all. With nothing to lose, Gun-hee accepted his offer. [/Spoiler]

[Spoiler] During the Jeju Island Raid, Goto divided his guild into four groups with him leading Team Alpha. As the raid progressed, Goto suddenly lost contact with his guild members in Teams Charlie and Delta and stumbled across their corpses in his search for them. Unmoved by their deaths and dismissing them as "weak," he then relayed the news to Chairman Matsumoto, revealing that the true purpose of their participation in the raid had been to annihilate the Korean S-Rank hunters. [Spoiler] Believing that their mission had succeeded, Matsumoto then ordered Goto and his surviving guild members to leave the island and abandon the Korean raid team to die. Before they could do so, they were ambushed by the Ant King, who easily decapitated Ishida. Believing that he could win, Goto decided to fight the Ant King.

Unfortunately, the Ant King was too strong for Goto and took his head off in one slice, an ironic death considering that all of his guild members that he had dismissed as "weak" had died in the exact same way. [/Spoiler]

Abilities:

[Spoiler] Goto was Japan's strongest hunter and aspired to become his country's National Level Hunter. A testament to his strength is that he was fast enough to partially deflect the Ant King's sudden attack, while none of his guild members were even able to react in time. He was also noted by Jin-woo to be much stronger than the other S-Ranks in his guild and was able to move with such speed that he could use his hand like a blade.

Despite his skills, however, Goto was not good against both Jin-woo, who easily overpowered him in their sparring match, and the Ant King, who killed him in one shot. He was also noted to be completely outclassed by Liu Zhigang, China's strongest hunter, in power by a Chinese navy captain who had seen them both in action personally. [/Spoiler]
